IEFCT and EFIT Trained - Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples and individuals

Serena is a student of the Master’s of Arts in Clinical Counselling program at Tyndale University, and she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Before attending graduate school, Serena worked as a teacher and a support worker for families going through times of crisis. She draws on both her training and experiences with children and families to help clients (individuals, children, couples, and families) navigate relationship challenges, communication difficulties, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, fear, and life transitions.

Serena offers culturally-informed care centered around collaboration. She believes that therapy is most effective when it is built on a strong partnership, where clients are active participants in shaping their goals and treatment. She is committed to helping clients move beyond simply managing symptoms toward building lives that feel more connected, empowered, and aligned with their goals and values.

In her spare time, Serena likes to go camping and hiking with her husband and two boys. She enjoys physical fitness and nutrition, as well as reading, playing board games, and crafting.
